You can stretch beyond the limits of your creative identity

and possibly find something magnificent to share.

Taken by me, last week, on a day when I learned what fog can look like in a forest.

You know, I take pictures all the time, but I’ve never considered myself a photographer.

Part of it is that I identified myself as a writer so early in life. Sometimes, I forget to make room to give too much thought to anything else.

Another part is the ease of it. I have a high-powered camera attached to my phone in my pocket almost all of the time, and since I often wander around outside, I feel like I’m just in the right place at the right time. If I take a good picture, I feel like I’m capturing a splendor that has nothing to do with me.

But this occurred to me today: what if that IS the skill I have to share through photography?

I wander around, looking for beauty, and sometimes, I find it.

I take it home in my pocket, stored in various tech and codes, and now, here, I can show what I found to you, wherever you are.

Just a thought to ponder, going into the weekend—in case you, like me, might be overlooking one of your own skills.

Maybe you’ve never thought of yourself that way. Maybe it’s always come to you easily. Maybe there’s something else about it that gives you pause.

That’s okay.

I bet you still have something magnificent to share.
